Black Desert currently offers 23 different classes. However, the majority of them are not well-balanced, partly because new classes are becoming increasingly unique and powerful. A major update is expected in December, which will revise 17 of these classes.
What exactly will be revised? According to the developers, the classes will be adjusted in various areas, including:
- Damage
- Survivability
- Attack range
- Accuracy
The goal is to adjust the older classes so that they do not perform “below average” compared to the newer classes. The focus will primarily be on abilities that are rarely used to make them more useful in the future.
Just in spring 2021, the new class Seer was released, which many consider extremely strong. It has a lot of AoE, abilities with 100% crit chance, and can teleport. Many old classes cannot compete.
When will the update be released? The release is scheduled for December 15 in Korea and for the SEA servers on December 22. It is very likely that the changes will also come to us on December 22.
A detailed announcement about the adjustments will be posted in the coming days. So far, there is only this teaser:
17 classes will be revised
Which classes are affected? The adjustments primarily affect the classes that were released before 2020:
- Tamer
- Dark Knight
- Warrior
- Kunoichi
- Lahn
- Maehwa
- Wizard
- Witch
- Musa
- Ninja
- Mystic
- Giant
- Ranger
- Dark Mage
- Striker
- Valkyrie
- Ranger
Is it worth starting with the changes? Essentially, it’s always worth starting with Black Desert when a new season starts.
Then you will receive an XP boost with a new character, gain useful equipment faster, and PvP is temporarily disabled until you move to one of the main servers.
Such a season is expected to start again in December/January and represents an ideal time to play one of the revised or one of the new classes.
How good these seasons really are has been revealed by a BDO veteran:
“Starting in Black Desert is better than ever,” says a hardcore player
