The Tamer class in Black Desert Online has received a significant nerf. Players of the MMORPG are now seeking to effect a change, consciously opting out of the usual shitstorm.
This is the nerf: A few days ago, an update was released in Black Desert Online that brought about some major balance changes in PvP. One change affected the Tamer class, which operates with their pet Heilang.
The Tamers received a hefty nerf of 12.5% on their damage in this update and should expect further nerfs to their ultimate ability in the near future.
Previously, according to player statements, the class was not particularly popular in PvP even before the nerfs.
What are the players doing? In a Discord specifically set up for Tamer players, the admins addressed the nerf. Logically, players were not happy about the changes to their class and decided to start an initiative to reverse the nerf.
Their plan is to seek a conversation with the developers. It will not be a shitstorm or rage thread on Reddit, but rather a civilized discussion regarding the current state of the Tamer class.
In the Discord and official forums, they started a call asking BDO players to write a support ticket. The content of the ticket should be a prepared message that accurately describes all the disadvantages of the class from the player’s perspective. These include, for example,
- slow movement speed
- low burst damage
- increased damage taken
At the end of the message, the developers are addressed directly and asked to find a solution for the Tamer class together with the players.
The polite and constructive tone of the message contrasts with the often rude and angry reactions that follow nerfs in forums and on social media.
Nevertheless, players want their voices to be heard and therefore also ask players of other classes to support them in this initiative. They should send this email to support, and the more people who do it, the better.
