With a new patch on March 17, the Sage class (Seer) was released in the MMORPG Black Desert. He is a “master over space and time” and an initial gameplay trailer is well received. The reactions from the first players are also positive.
What kind of class is this? The Sage is the 22nd class in Black Desert and was originally teased with a mysterious cube. It has since been revealed that this is a male character who uses the shown cube as a weapon.
He focuses on magical attacks and represents a romanticized figure from a prehistoric civilization. His talents include abilities such as:
- Tear Bridge – a teleport between two predetermined points
- Collapse – an ability that deals a lot of AoE damage and weakens enemies
- Ator’s Power – a powerful attack that hits 100% critically
- Atomagia – a lightning attack that knocks enemies down
- He can liquefy his physical body to escape from emergencies

Who has access to the Sage? For now, the class is only available for the PC version and for players in EU/NA. Players from Korea have to wait, as do console users. The Sage will be available there on March 31, 2021.
Much praise for the new class, but rapid leveling is missing
How are players reacting to the Sage? The new trailer for the class has been viewed over 25,000 times in 6 hours and received almost exclusively positive ratings. There were 1,300 thumbs up against 30 thumbs down (as of March 18, 6:00 PM).

What do the critics say? There are also some negative voices regarding the trailer. However, these do not necessarily relate to the class itself, but more to the general environment:
- It is only criticized that the class feels a bit slow.
- However, the video receives some negative comments because of the many camera shakes.
- It is also criticized that the new class is released during an ongoing season. Seasons occur regularly in Black Desert and are perfect for beginners and leveling new characters. However, the Sage cannot be used for the current season.
Anyone who wants to level the Sage effectively and has not played Black Desert in a while should wait another week. Then new Olvia servers will be released.
What do the new servers provide? The new servers will be released on March 24 and will have a permanent buff of 150% combat EXP, 100% work EXP, and 30% talent EXP. Additionally, you will earn more contribution EXP based on your contribution points.
However, they are only for players who have not played for at least 30 days or who created an account within the last 30 days.
Update brings new events and daylight saving time
What has changed through the new update?
- There were balance adjustments for the other classes
- The dark rifts in Odraxxia have been adjusted and now appear more frequently
- The Black Spirit can now be summoned in motion
- On March 24, a new quest will be activated, in which you can exchange 6 Naru equipment (main weapon, secondary weapon, helmet, armor, gloves, and shoes) of PEN (V) level for Narchillan equipment.
- Additionally, world bosses and fort wars have been adjusted for daylight saving time, which starts for us on March 28, 2021.
Along with the patch, an old event has also been brought back. Through the guild attendance rewards, players receive loot just for being part of a guild and logging in. You can earn black stones, EXP scrolls, and other useful rewards through this.
