The MMORPG hope Ashes of Creation has shown first images from the dungeons in a live stream. The gameplay looks promising and the fans are excited – one in particular.
What is currently happening with Ashes of Creation? At the end of March, the developers contacted us via livestream with gameplay from the first alpha, surprising many. This was because the shown content exceeded expectations.
Now in May, the alpha is also supposed to start. Initially, it will be for a smaller part of the player base. Nevertheless, it is one of the most promising new MMORPGs in 2020.
A few days ago, there was news again from the MMORPG. In another livestream, the developers showed first footage from the dungeons. And the gameplay stirs the excitement of the fans.
The hype in the community is growing
Here are the reactions to the stream: Players have been waiting for a good MMORPG in fresh attire for years. And Ashes of Creation seems to cater to this hope.
The comments under the YouTube video are very positive. User Rob Lambert summarizes his hype like this and received the most likes under the video (84, as of 04.05.2020):
You guys are driving me crazy. I’m 50 years old and I am NOT getting younger. Please release the game before I die, or get arthritis and can no longer play.

But other comments echo the same sentiment. Especially the look and the effects excite the viewers:
Oh wow, I agree – these effects look OUTSTANDING

Impressive environment and strong effects
According to the developers, they focus on versatility and atmosphere in the dungeons. Lighting plays a significant role. In the livestream, they showed two dungeons that indeed have very different settings.
This is the first dungeon: The first dungeon includes a vault that looks somewhat like a temple. It is supposed to be accessible at level 5-10. The developers also play it with level-10 characters.
With a well-timed jump, the level is switched. Beneath the vault, players will find a mine, a shaft with wooden beams. To get back up, you have to climb them.
As opponents, adventurers can expect several trash mobs with humanoid enemies.
This is the second dungeon: The second dungeon has a completely different setting. Players find themselves in a type of jungle with ruins. Here too, the level is switched by a jump, this time into a hole with a light cone.

Here, players can expect trolls and lizards. Among the trash mobs, there will be groups of varying difficulty. This will make the run less monotonous.
This will be shown further: Additionally, several questions about gameplay will be answered during this time:
- Groups will consist of a maximum of 8 players. A good mix of classes will be beneficial.
- The maximum level will be 50.
- Leveling will lean more towards hardcore. While it won’t be as severe as in a grinding game, the maximum level, according to the developers, won’t be achievable in just a few days.
- Some information, like tracking enemies on the minimap, will depend on class skills.
- You will need to manage your mana well. However, it won’t be necessary to sit down between fights.
However, the effects are probably the most impressive. Especially the players’ attacks look fantastic. Some area attacks hit portals and elemental discharges.
Design, Design, Design
This is what the stream showed: Besides the footage of the dungeons, more designs were shown. The developers provided insight into:
- The various races
- Plants and animals in the game
- The playable environment
- Buildings and caravans
- The tools like fishing
- Character design
These snippets showed a lot of love for detail. Especially the gameplay feeling is prioritized in Ashes of Creation and that shows. Now it remains to be seen how the game performs in the alpha and what other news will come.
