The MMORPG Ashes of Creation is currently in development and plans to hold its first public alpha tests in 2021. In a new video, they have now intensively presented the second class: the Tank.
What kind of class is this? The Tank is one of the 8 classes in Ashes of Creation. However, the MMORPG uses an interesting system where two classes can always be combined. This results in a total of 64 classes.
The Tank is particularly characterized by its ability to take a lot of damage and attract enemies to itself. Therefore, it has abilities that generate aggro and can strengthen itself.
What abilities were presented? In the official video, there are directly 9 abilities that you can earn up to level 10:
- Weapon Toss – Throw the weapon at an enemy, deals damage and generates aggro
- Bulwark – Strikes the target and increases block chance. Generates aggro
- Ultimate Defense – Increases damage reduction based on missing health up to invulnerability. Reduces movement speed while the ability is active
- Javelin – Pulls the target towards you. Generates aggro
- Lacerate – Strikes the target, deals direct damage and bleeding over time. Generates aggro
- Myrmidon – Attacks the target and increases your damage reduction. Generates aggro
- Onslaught – Jumps to the target. Generates a small shield and aggro
- Shockwave – Stomps on the ground. Knocks targets down in front of you and deals damage. Generates aggro
- Resounding Smash – Shatters the ground in front of you and deals AoE damage. Generates aggro
Cleric and Mage Presented
What can the other classes do? Before the Tank, two other classes were already presented. The first class was the Mage. Its focus is on dealing damage. You can see the 9 abilities of the Mage in this article.
The Cleric was the second base class to receive a preview. Here, it is about a mix of clerical damage and healing for allies.
What’s next for Ashes? New features and content for Ashes of Creation are currently being presented in livestreams every month. Because the MMORPG is still in development, only selected testers have been able to try the game under NDA so far.
