In the MMORPG ArcheAge Unchained, a massive wave of bans is currently taking place. This wave does not spare even the best players in Europe. Fans praise Gamigo for the action.
What is happening in ArcheAge Unchained? The publisher Gamigo is currently conducting a cleanup operation in the new version of the MMORPG, during which many accounts have been permanently banned.
This has also affected Ubeka, the player with the highest gear score in Europe, as he shared on Discord:

Also Zerotwo (rank 3), Brooky (rank 7), and Kaotik (rank 8) are said to have been caught up in the ban wave. This is at least claimed in a reddit thread.
Why were the players banned? The reason behind it is the purchase of gold. There is still no official statement from Gamigo regarding this.
In a developer stream last week, it was announced that there would be stronger measures against gold buying. This action may result from that announcement.

Fans praise the publisher for the action
How are the affected players reacting? So far, none of the banned players have officially commented on the action. Only Ubeka’s screenshot has leaked so far.
However, in the reddit, there is a rumor that Zerotwo, the player in rank 3, allegedly exchanged all his gear before his ban to avoid appearing on the leaderboard and becoming a target for a ban.
This obviously did not help him.
How are other players reacting to the action? Players who are not affected by the bans praise the publisher for the ban wave.
Reddit user lunilii opened a thread in which he thanked for the bans. Many agree:
- semireject: “Very good! Keep going through the list.”
- Kexby: “This is fantastic news! It gives me hope for the future of the game. Maybe they do care after all.”
- AleXBBoy: “I don’t even play Unchained, but I welcome their good work.”
Ban wave gives fans hope: ArcheAge Unchained has faced many problems since its release:
- While they banned pay-to-win from the MMORPG, the new battle passes caused exploits.
- Moreover, there were server issues and long queues at release.
However, the current ban wave gives the fans of Unchained hope that Gamigo really cares about the issues of the players. This has been sorely missed since the acquisition of “Trion Worlds” games.
