The German MMORPG Albion Online is booming with the launch of the new server in Europe. On Steam, the peak player count has more than doubled, and on Twitch, the viewer numbers are skyrocketing: Currently, only WoW is bigger among MMORPGs.
What’s happening in Albion Online?
- The third server for the MMORPG Albion Online launched on April 29th: Albion Europe. After Asia and North America, the MMORPG from Berlin now has a European server for the first time.
- Albion Online attracts players with a new, improved version. Additionally, they advertise reduced lag for players from Europe.
- The crucial point: The world is still untouched. This means everyone starts from zero.

How big is the boom? The MMORPG is bursting at the seams. There are queues on the server. A screenshot from the Polish site mmorpg.org.pl shows that 8,312 players were in the queue.
On Steam, the MMORPG reached 27,208 players on April 29th – this is the all-time high. Albion Online has never had more players than in the last few days. Compared to the peak in March 2024, that is more than double the number of players online at the same time.
On Twitch, viewer numbers have increased by 177% in the last 7 days. Only WoW is bigger among MMORPGs there.
