The MMORPG AION released a major new update last week. With AION 7.2, there are some contents for both PvP and PvE enthusiasts. This includes a PvP battle for 2000 players, but it has strict opening hours.
On October 30, update 7.2 arrived on the European servers of the MMORPG AION. This brought another huge chunk of new content to the game released in 2008. We will show you the highlights of the patch notes and tell you more about the new PvP battle for 2000 players around the new area Red Katalam.
Red Katalam and its opening hours
What is Red Katalam? With the patch, a new PvP area came to AION. It is called Red Katalam and accommodates up to 2000 players. Here is what the new map offers you:
- You can compete in PvP against 1000 players from the opposing faction
- You can capture garrisons
- There are also various raid bosses
- Whoever captures more garrisons even gets additional bosses
- There are special weapons for Red Katalam
- Merchants for special goods have been added, and there are also treasure chests
When is Red Katalam accessible? However, you cannot engage in this massive faction battle all day long. For the European servers, the time window is set from 6 PM to 11 PM, so only 5 hours a day. You can enter through Dumaha.
Who can join the fight? In Red Katalam, you can compete with up to 1000 PvP fighters per faction. Elyos and Asmodians have access starting from level 76.

However, the update does not end with Red Katalam. There is also something for PvE fans. Additionally, further features for your characters are available.
This new PvE instance awaits you: With AION 7.2, not only PvP content arrived. A new PvE instance has also been introduced. It is called Beninerk’s Manor and is available in both normal and easy difficulty settings. You can enter from level 80 with a maximum of 12 players from Vespera Harbor.
This is how you can now test your strength: The new update introduced the Orbis training arena. Here you can engage in free fights and measure yourself against others. And that independently of your faction. Additionally, free soul healer and transformation buff NPCs are available to you there.
What has changed with character skills: AION 7.2 brought some adjustments for each class. Even the new class specialization of the Colorist was affected. Among other things, the critical hit of “Weapon Destruction” was reduced.
