On September 25, 2009, the MMORPG Aion was released in Europe. Since then, there have been dozens of new updates. At the beginning of 2023, you will be able to experience the MMORPG from the beginning again. The Classic servers are launching in Europe. We at MeinMMO will reveal everything important to you.
What does the MMORPG offer at launch? Aion Classic is set to launch in Europe with the status of Patch 2.0 and some adjustments compared to the current MMORPG:
- You will experience the PvE content up to level 55 on various maps and in dungeons such as Poeta of Darkness.
- You will be able to play Rifts, Dredgions, and Fortress battles in PvP.
- You will still have access to cool features like flying.
- It will be Free2Play, but there are features like Daeva Pass and Siel’s Energy, which we will discuss in more detail later.
The Classic servers are intended to remain permanent and attract a lot of nostalgia, as some veterans view the current Aion as “pushed to death.” Furthermore, they are a great opportunity for new players to try Aion again. The publisher of the servers in Europe is Gameforge, which also manages the current Aion.
When will Aion Classic be released? The current release window is set for early 2023. There is no specific date yet.

Classic servers launched in America with much hype, but there was also criticism
Where are there already Classic servers? The Classic servers were launched in America on June 23, 2021. At that time, there was a great rush and over 30,000 players were in queues. However, there is also criticism of the new servers.
The Daeva Pass, for example, is a Battle Pass that offers various useful items in its premium variant, including coins for equipment. Additionally, some items could be sold for in-game currency in America, which some viewed as “indirect Pay2Win.”
How exactly the Battle Pass will look in the European version will be revealed to us in early 2023.
Additionally, there is Siel’s Energy, a subscription system. This is needed for players to trade with each other and access all items. Aion Classic is thus heavily restricted for Free2Play players.
