Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (27) is not only one of the biggest streamers on the German Twitch, but also internationally known. His American colleague Mizkif recently revealed that he uses him as inspiration for his content.
What was the situation like? Over the weekend, Dan Clancy, the CEO of Twitch, sat down with Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo. Together they ate spicy chicken wings and answered questions that the streamer had previously gathered from his community.
When asked whether AI streamers would one day take over Twitch, they also talked about their personal viewing behavior. Dan Clancy explained that, unlike most users, he doesn’t have specific streamers that he follows. Instead, he checks into one channel and switches to the next after 10 minutes.
Mizkif admitted to doing something similar: He stops by other streamers, steals their ideas, and then moves on to the next. The American is known for being inspired by others’ content and picking up absolutely every trend.
However, it was surprising for many viewers who Mizkif especially highlighted: the German streamer Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller.
Could it be because of his hydrogen blonde hair? Papaplatte is often referred to as the “German xQc”.
Papaplatte impresses the CEO of Twitch
What did Mizkif have to say about Papaplatte? Mizkif explained that he often checks in on Papaplatte to steal his ideas, as he has really good ideas. Moreover, the streamer praises his German colleague’s community for being really loyal.
The Twitch CEO responded with interest: He needs to check out “Papa Latte” as well, perhaps even meet him at TwitchCon. After Dan Clancy had been criticized by streamers for being too far removed from the community, he is making a significant effort to show closeness to content creators.
The Twitch CEO also has the German scene in mind and has already spoken with EliasN97, the largest German streamer.
For Mizkif, however, Papaplatte is no stranger; they have known each other for years and have even streamed together, such as at the Reddit event r/place. On X, formerly Twitter, he even recently hinted at visiting Papaplatte in Germany.
“Honestly, he is a jerk, but his content is really good,” the American streamer summarized about Papaplatte.
The conversation reached Papaplatte, who initially choked a bit when the topic turned to him and then reacted amused: “Which ideas?” he asked jokingly. However, Dan Clancy informed Papaplatte that he probably would not be coming to TwitchCon. You can see his reaction here in the video:
The conversation between Mizkif and the Twitch CEO once again emphasizes that Papaplatte is one of the very few German streamers who play an international role, are relevant, and even serve as inspiration for content – otherwise, you usually see German streamers adopting trends from the international scene.
