A YouTuber knows no limits in Minecraft . For over 2,000 days, he has survived in hardcore mode of Minecraft – and documented every single day.
In Minecraft, there are a variety of challenges that players can take on. Whether it’s a creative building project, defeating the Ender Dragon, or sabotaging fellow players. However, few game modes bring as much excitement as hardcore mode. This is exactly what YouTuber Luke TheNotable played for a proud 2,000 in-game days.
What is Hardcore Mode? In hardcore mode of Minecraft, there is constant danger. Not only are the enemies stronger and starvation is a possible way to die, but the entire game world is at risk. If the player dies, the world is automatically locked and cannot be played anymore. Essentially, you only have one life – and in Minecraft, that can be lost quickly. A single Creeper in the dark or a small pool of lava can spontaneously end a hardcore run.
What did the YouTuber do? His long journey of 2,000 in-game days has been documented by Luke TheNotable in several videos. Each day is only given a few seconds, briefly mentioning the most important event that occurred. Step by step, he begins with a new world and builds his empire. This eventually leads to giant pillars of emerald and a breeding facility for villagers followed by zombification, just to heal them again and sell them the melons they previously didn’t want.
This project is highly appreciated by viewers. After just 3 days, the “2000 Days” video has already received over 8 million views.
Overall, it’s worth watching the whole video series. It’s simply beautiful to see how Luke TheNotable’s world slowly unfolds and expands. As each day is condensed into a few seconds, innovations and changes are easy to spot, and there is rarely any boredom. Not to mention it’s quite an achievement to survive over 2,000 in-game days in a row.
With the upcoming “Caves & Cliffs” update, even more innovations are expected in his game world.
By the way, Luke TheNotable has certainly died a few times. His death, however, is caught by Totems. These are powerful, but also quite rare items that allow one to escape death once, as long as they are in the inventory.
