A new modification for Minecraft is now playable. Almost the entire world of “Harry Potter” has been recreated and filled with quests and many puzzles.
Minecraft players are known for recreating the largest and craziest projects in the game and spending thousands of hours on projects. In this case, it seems to have paid off. A group of Minecrafters took on the “Harry Potter” universe and transferred it into the Minecraft world. Players can now experience the result as a mod – with quests, puzzles, spells, and plenty of hidden details.
In Minecraft, by the way, there will soon be new species – they want your gold.
What is it about? The Minecraft mod “School of Witchcraft and Wizardry” has now reached its alpha version and can be played by anyone. The goal of the modders was to recreate the world of Harry Potter. This includes smaller projects like the town of Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley, but also monumental buildings like Hogwarts Castle with everything that belongs to it. In the halls, there are:
- Rooms for spell classes
- The greenhouse
- The Great Hall
- Hidden cellars
- Huge stairways
- The Quidditch pitch
- Hagrid’s hut
With great attention to detail, the developers of the map have extracted as much information as possible from the books and implemented it in Minecraft. This includes thematically appropriate quests, as well as spells and plenty of items that players can use.
Even if you don’t want to play all the quests and puzzles, it’s worth checking out the map.
Or as the comment from Funny Happy Studios under the video describes:
This is no longer Minecraft. You’ve simply created a whole new game!
In any case, this mod is definitely worth a very, very long look.
Those who like such mods will also enjoy Minecraft Dungeons – which will also be released soon.
How can you participate? To be able to play the mod “Minecraft School of Witchcraft and Wizardry”, you just need to download the mod. You can do this on this website. Keep in mind that it is still an alpha version of the map, so bugs and issues are not excluded. The download is free, but those who want to support the developers can also donate (also possible on the website).
What do you think of this modification? Will you take a look at blocky Hogwarts?
