A new election in Minecraft excites the community. Because out of 3 great ideas, only one will be implemented. Many players find it the wrong decision.
In Minecraft, it has become a good, old tradition to vote on a new mob to be added to the game each year. The developers present three different ideas, and the community can vote on which of the creatures will be added to the game. Usually, these are “useful” beings – mobs that are generally neutral but can assist the player character in various ways.
Again in 2023, such an election is pending – but the community is “fed up”. They don’t want to vote anymore – they want all three creatures.

What’s on the ballot? The three mobs that are options have already been roughly introduced. While not all details are known yet, there are a few hints about what the creatures can do and how they behave:
- Penguin: The penguin is very fast and agile in water – on land, however, it moves somewhat clumsily. Additionally, penguins are directly friendly and help speed up the player character’s boat.
- Crab: The crabs live in the mangroves, and their claws can be used by players to place blocks over a greater distance than before. This effectively increases the building range of player characters.
- Armadillo: The materials from the armadillo can be used to craft special armor – for your wolf companion. This way, you can better protect your best friend.
The election will take place starting October 13 for 48 hours. Those who wish can cast their vote directly in the Minecraft Launcher.
The community says: The community appears a little upset, just like in previous years. Because this voting has already led to many being dissatisfied in the past – after all, 2 out of 3 ideas will not be implemented. Accordingly, the comments under the YouTube video reflect this and request that all 3 mobs simply be added to the game:
As many as 47,000 “thumbs up” were given for the simple request from iDeativateMC: “Mojang, can we please have all 3 mobs in the game?”
This is the basic consensus in the comments. Time and again, there are calls for the developers to just add all 3 mobs. Only then will everyone truly be satisfied – and it would be the best for Minecraft.
It looks a bit more radical from RoguePlatypus4414: “THE MOB VOTE HAS DIVIDED US FOR TOO LONG! WE NEED TO UNITE AND GET THEM TO ADD ALL OF THEM.”
