This Reddit user claims that Microsoft used his PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) fan artwork for advertising without asking him first. The advertisement has since been removed.
On Reddit, the user Macsterr wrote a thread titled “Do you remember my advertising proposal? Microsoft just copied it”. In early November 2017, Macsterr uploaded his advertising design to Reddit and shared it with the community. There were many positive reactions to the design.
Apparently, Microsoft has now used this design for advertising the Xbox version of PUBG. The community is angry!

On the last Tuesday, December 26, the official Xbox account then shared the following image on Twitter to promote PUBG:
The similarity can’t be ignored. The tweet with the corresponding image has since been deleted. Microsoft wants to investigate the matter first.
In his Reddit post, Macsterr explains: “I’m not claiming I hold the copyright. However, my first post was seen by 63,000 people. Therefore, I assume they saw it and didn’t give me any credits for it.”
Now speculations are starting in the community. The majority supports Macsterr and flooded the Xbox Twitter account with copying accusations. Other users are wondering who is actually in the right here. We are curious to see how this turns out.
