Insiders complain that an important feature of the taskbar is missing in Windows 11. Microsoft has now stated that this is intentional and that users should instead utilize an app. The reactions are not very friendly.
Users of the Windows Insider Program can already test Windows 11 and its features. However, alongside the slightly modified design, which somewhat resembles Macintosh according to YouTubers, several other things have also been rearranged. And not everyone is happy with these changes.
Already with the fact that apps or programs can no longer be pinned to the taskbar, few users were made happy.
Here’s the point: Users have complained that the Windows calendar has also been deprived of an important function that many like to use.
In Windows 10, you can open the calendar by clicking on the date display. Besides the date and a calendar view, you had access to important appointments below and could immediately see what is scheduled for this week or the coming days.
This way, you can directly access important appointments from the desktop without having to rely on other apps.
Now some users have complained in the Windows 11 Feedback Hub that this specific function is now missing. Some even suspect that it could be a bug. After all, the function is so useful that it should also be present in Windows 11. Moreover, this is still a first preview build, and things may change in the future (via reddit.com).
This is Microsoft’s response: However, Microsoft quickly explained that it intentionally no longer includes the calendar function in Windows 11 and that it is not a bug. Instead, they suggest using the new widget app in Windows 11 (via windowslatest.com):
