Starting from December 27, 2025, the big Twitch event will take place in World of Warcraft Classic. The streamers Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller, Maximilian “HandOfBlood” Knabe, and Giacomo “Metashi12” Gaviria are planning the event and have brainstormed ideas and names they want to have in the past weeks. Even now, there is ongoing discussion about the participants, and Metashi believes that not everyone can be invited.
What kind of event is this? In recent weeks, the Twitch streamer Metashi has shared new information and ideas about the planned WoW event. A hardcore guild of Twitch streamers is to be created, who will play WoW Classic together. Each Twitch streamer will only have one attempt with their character; if they die, they are out.
A number of content creators have been asked or have inquired whether they can participate. Twitch streamer MontanaBlack seemed disappointed that he had not been asked yet.
The anticipation for the event is high within the Twitch scene and community. It doesn’t matter whether the individual is a professional or a beginner in WoW. Nevertheless, Metashi and his colleagues reserve the right to not want certain people to participate and not to invite them.
Certain streamers are to be excluded from the WoW event
Who is not allowed to participate? When asked by his Twitch chat about further participants, Metashi initially said: “So there will actually be a bit of drama. I have to say that honestly, but we will try to manage it as best as we can.” (Source: YouTube from minute 00:20).
The Twitch streamer continues, stating that he has been streaming WoW for 7 years and would know everyone who streams the game. If someone new starts playing the game, he would always engage with that person.
This has led him to know exactly who he wants to have and who not. He explains that there are “a certain type of people that often stream WoW, who are not really an asset for any events”.
This would be due to their behavior and what is said in the stream, but also their treatment of others. There are enough people who would then not be invited to the WoW event. Also, WoW streamers with a problematic history would not be invited; the event is simply too important to him and others for that.
An exclusion, Metashi continues, is their decision and it would not be missed if certain streamers did not participate. The Twitch streamer then states: “It’s not like we have a duty to invite every person who fucking streams WoW. (…) It’s also our right to say ‘We do not want to invite that person’.” (Source: YouTube from minute 01:55). Behind the scenes, some names have already been discussed regarding whether they should be invited or not.
Some participants for the WoW event are already set. For one participating Twitch streamer, Metashi is particularly eager to see him die in the game, as he has already talked big about the game.
