An Overwatch fan is demanding that Mercy should receive two pistols. To everyone’s surprise, Blizzard responded promptly.
At sporting events, it has long been customary to write demands or wishes on posters and hold them up for the cameras as prominently as possible. The Overwatch League is no exception, although the spectators’ wishes there can sometimes be a bit absurd. After previously demanding that Zenyatta should be able to walk, there has been a second wish in recent days:
“Give Mercy 2 pistols!” was written on a poster.
The Overwatch team didn’t take long and responded on Twitter with a tired “K.” and a clip that fulfilled the corresponding wish.
It shows Mercy with two pistols happily shooting her way through the Hollywood map.
Clearly, this is not an actual change, but merely a small plaything for the developers. Mercy has been given two pistols and other movement and shooting patterns. If you look and listen closely, you can hear the shotgun sounds from Reaper and the corresponding animations.
Other community wishes include that Torbjörn should be able to run along walls like Hanzo or Genji and place his turrets on walls and ceilings. This would make the inventive Swede more viable in the eyes of many fans, as he currently is only really useful in “Capture the Flag”.
