In the second episode of the MeinMMO podcast, our editors discuss the major crowdfunding MMOs and where they stand in 2020.
What makes the MeinMMO podcast special? Yes, you read that right. MeinMMO now has its own podcast! There are already some good gaming podcasts in the German-speaking area, but none like the one from MeinMMO!
Just like on our website, we will focus primarily on the diverse world of MMOs and multiplayer online games. Be it a fast-paced MMO shooter like Destiny 2 or a classic MMORPG like World of Warcraft.
Spotify Libsyn iTunesMMORPGs and Crowdfunding
What is this episode about? MMOs and MMORPGs are often huge ambitious projects that consume a lot of money and other resources. Many development companies cannot afford this and resort to a different form of financing: crowdfunding.
In the latest episode of our podcast, we therefore talk about the largest crowdfunding MMORPGs and where they stand in 2020.
- What are the chances for these MMORPGs?
- What problems are there?
- What could their potential release be?
Among the discussed games are, for example, Ashes of Creation, Crowfall, Star Citizen, and others.
Who is involved? This time, three editors from MeinMMO are on board. The host is again Leya Jankowski from the editorial team. She talks to MeinMMO editor-in-chief Gerd Schuhmann and MMORPG editor Alexander Leitsch.
Schuhmann represents the opinion that crowdfunding for MMORPGs is problematic, while Alex sees it more positively and has already backed several games.
