TRAINEE EDITOR FOR GAMING CULTURE (m/f/d) MeinMMO.de
What kind of job is this? As a Trainee Editor for Gaming Culture, you will be well-informed about everything happening in the gaming scene. You know what gamers are talking about and where communities are forming. Who are the newcomers in gaming on Twitch and TikTok? What do the biggest gaming influencers say about a new game release? Why is fish stick pizza trending on Twitter? Where does gaming influence our society?

WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
- In close coordination with the editorial team, you will help in planning the editorial coverage
- You will research, write, and edit contributions such as news, columns, and interviews
- We will teach you how to optimize articles according to the latest SEO and web publishing findings and refine them linguistically
- You will mainly deal with the gaming scene and gaming personalities on Twitter, Twitch, Reddit, YouTube, and TikTok to find exciting stories there
- We encourage you to give feedback on our work processes and actively shape and improve them from an early stage
- We will show you how to analyze data with the appropriate tools to understand why we write or do not write certain articles and how you can improve your own articles as a result
- Intensive and primarily practical training in journalistic work for the web with a focus on gaming and gaming culture
WHAT WE LOOK FORWARD TO:
- You are passionate about the gaming scene and everything that goes beyond mere video games; you are interested in the person behind the games
- People like Gnu, Gronkh, xQc, Shurjoka, Asmongold, Pokimane, Faker, or Amouranth are familiar to you (you know the most important gaming personalities from Twitch and social media, from esports, and understand what makes them tick)
- Complex topics do not intimidate you, and you enjoy delving into them and understanding them
- You are open and approachable and have no problems contacting someone for an interview
- You have a good sense of language, excellent German skills, and very good English skills
- You bring great ambition to develop your writing and skills further
- You enjoy varied work, as no two days are alike in web journalism
- Practical experience in the media sector is a plus. Whether on a fan site, a blog, social media, or Twitch (This is not a requirement for this position)
