We are looking for reinforcement in our author team starting immediately. You can now apply for a position at MeinMMO to write news, specials, and opinions on MMORPGs independently from home office.
Who we are looking for: You should be well-versed in gaming, especially in online gaming and MMORPGs. You should feel comfortable in gaming communities and be willing to familiarize yourself with new games as well as general topics.
Here’s what we are looking at:
- You always know which MMORPG has a major update coming up.
- You enjoy getting people excited about new games.
- You are interested in what players care about and where the issues in the games are.
- You have your own opinion or can delve deeply into a game.
- You are familiar with reddit, Twitter, Discord, and official forums to stay informed.
- You are willing to reflect on criticism of your work, accept it, and continue to develop in writing.
- You enjoy writing and bring an interest in journalistic work.
It’s an advantage if you have gained experience: A personal blog, your own streaming channel, or work for another website could count as experience. However, this is not a requirement for the position.
We would like to fill the position as quickly and well as possible. Maybe with you.

This is the job
You will be part of our editorial team and help shape our coverage on MMORPGs. We are grateful for suggestions and input on how we can further improve this. It is important to us that you prioritize the readers and think about which articles are really interesting and important for them.
The field of tasks:
- You will write articles about MMORPGs in general (news, lists, analyses, opinions, community interviews) and may also assist with guides for specific games.
- You will independently search for exciting topics that you can turn into articles. You will receive support from the editorial team.
- You will engage with analysis tools like Google Trends to identify what the community is currently really interested in. You don’t need any prior knowledge for this. The necessary knowledge can be provided by the editorial team.
- You will coordinate with the editorial team about which articles you would like to write.
- You will accept assignments from the editorial team on MMORPG topics.
- You will receive feedback from the editorial team on your articles and will implement it accordingly.
- You can optionally participate in workshops that we offer in the area of online and gaming journalism.
Who we are
MeinMMO was founded in September 2013. Since March 2016, we have been part of Webedia Gaming. We continue to maintain an independent editorial team, most of whom work from their home office. We draw on the resources at our headquarters in Munich, where the GameStar editorial team is also located. Both GameStar and MeinMMO and GamePro are part of Webedia Gaming GmbH.
By now, MeinMMO reaches over 3 million unique users per month, with a record value of 3.36 million in January 2021 according to agof. This has established the site as one of the largest German gaming websites alongside GameStar.de and GamePro.de within a few years.
The focus of MeinMMO is on popular service games that are continuously developed over the years and played together online. Titles include Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online, Lost Ark, Final Fantasy XIV, GTA Online, Fortnite, or FIFA 21.
