Alexander Leitsch and Mark Sellner – two of the MMORPG authors here on MeinMMO – have started a new podcast together: MMO News. This podcast focuses entirely on MMORPGs. However, the project is not a successor to the MeinMMO podcast and is not associated with the website – it is purely a hobby project.
What kind of project is this? In MMO News, Alex and Mark primarily talk about current events in MMORPGs:
- At the beginning, it’s all about the top news from the last 14 days.
- After that, they look at everything new that has happened in the big 6 – WoW, ESO, GW2, FFXIV, Lost Ark, and Black Desert.
- In the third section of the podcast, they discuss their personal experiences. What have we played? What curious things have we encountered?
- Finally, there are one or two focus topics. In the first episode, we looked at the current development of ArcheAge.
Regular episodes of MMO News are set to be released every 14 days, always on Thursday. The first episode was released on January 12.
In between, there are occasional specials planned. For example, this week, on January 19, we will look at the year 2023 and make predictions about which MMORPGs will be released, which will die, and which will switch their payment model to Free2Play. A special on Throne and Liberty and a ranking of the best Guild Wars 2 expansions are also already planned.

How is the project related to MeinMMO? Not at all. We started it as a hobby alongside our work because we both love podcasts and enjoy talking about MMORPGs. Therefore, we will also not be venturing into the world of shooters, survival games, or the influencer world.
The project will not replace the MeinMMO podcast. There will be another announcement regarding this in the coming weeks.
