For Honor offers you 12 hero classes at launch. Among them are brutal axe murderers, sneaky knife-wielders, gigantic samurai brawlers, and the feared “Noob-Bimbo”. We want to know from you: Which hero is your favorite in Ubisoft’s sword-fighting spectacle?
For Honor, Ubisoft’s brutal melee MMO, is finally out and offers you a wide selection of cool heroes. In total, you can choose from twelve brutal killers, each a master of their fighting style. So far, all heroes are quite balanced, as our first tier list proves. Therefore, the choice of hero is a matter of play style and personal preferences.
The All-Round Classes – Warden, Kensei, or Raider?
Even though you can play all 12 heroes from the start in For Honor, most players will likely begin their adventure with the 3 beginner heroes. They are already “unlocked”, can earn experience points, and can be customized.
The Warden is a truly balanced hero who is popular among many players because he can do everything and has hardly any weaknesses. However, he doesn’t really stand out in any way. A true all-rounder. If you enjoy brutal action, you might lean towards the Raider. This wild brute excels especially at one thing: trampling opponents like a wild boar and making them tumble across the battlefield like dolls – preferably into sharp stakes or ravines. The Kensei has a bit more finesse, wielding a gigantic sword that is surprisingly precise and particularly good at breaking through enemy defenses. Which of these all-rounders do you prefer?
The Heavy Classes – Shugoki, Warlord and Conqueror
The tankiest tank in the game should be the Conqueror. This armored muscle-bound character can hide perfectly behind his shield and from cover reposition foes with his flail. Hardly any class is better suited for defending narrow passages. The Viking Warlord also fights similarly defensively.
He blocks with his shield, but can also effectively counter and damage opponents even while behind cover. Less defensive but still a good tank is the chubby Shugoki of the Samurai. This meat mountain has no shield but wields a gigantic club. With that, he can unleash unstoppable attacks and can take a beating thanks to his high hit points. Assassins! – Peacekeeper, Berserker, and Orochi
The heroes listed so far are all big, muscle-bound giants who fold their opponents with brutal violence. The assassin classes operate quite differently. They rely on finesse and complex maneuvers. Above all, the difficult to master Peacekeeper. This fighter prefers quick maneuvers and damage over time.
The radically offensive Berserker, on the other hand, is a highly annoying flank fighter who attacks you at the least opportune moment from the side and drives you across the battlefield with quick combo attacks. The Orochi of the Samurai uses precise strikes with his katana and can buff himself and hinder opponents. Which of these three nimble killers do you prefer?
Specialists – Nobushi, Valkyrie, and Lawbringer
These three classes are hybrids that excel in various disciplines and all have a good range thanks to their polearms. For example, the hefty Lawbringer is heavily armored and thus a good tank. He can also stun and hinder opponents with his greataxe. The nimble Valkyrie is a defensive heroine who strikes quickly with her spear, counterattacks well, and can even block while charging in.
The queen of the battlefield is, according to the tier list and many players, the Nobushi, affectionately dubbed “Noob-Bimbo”. She fights with a naginata and thus has the best range in the game. She bleeds opponents and can revive fallen allies particularly quickly. Thus, she rocks especially in the 4vs4 domination mode.

Jürgen says: For my part, I love the Raider. On one hand, I like big, hefty brawler characters, then I like the gigantic axe, and I love the storm attack throw! It looks just magnificent when my Viking giant, next to whom every other hero looks like a little runt, simply tosses the opponent over his shoulder and then throws him into spikes, flames, or off the castle wall.
