The E3 is just around the corner. In the coming weeks, game studios and publishers will showcase their new games. What are your expectations for E3? Especially regarding online games and MMORPGs?
In recent years, MMORPGs have not been a major topic at the E3 gaming fair. When it comes to online games, developers and publishers have focused more on MOBAs or online shooters like Overwatch and Destiny or The Division. Classic MMORPGs were hard to find. Especially large publishers are hesitant to announce the next World of Warcraft. However, this could change this year.

What about MMORPGs at E3?
Because with Magic: The Gathering or New World AAA MMORPGs are back in development. We will probably see something from these games at E3. And who knows, maybe we can expect some surprises.
Nevertheless, the focus will likely shift more towards online shooters again. Simply because this genre is currently so popular. The announcement of Destiny 2 hit like a nova bomb. Other development studios and publishers will have noticed that games like Overwatch or Destiny are well-received and may introduce similar games.

Livestreaming and Addons
Livestreaming will also be in the spotlight. New World, for example, or the 4-vs-4 brawler Breakaway and the online action game Crucible (all from Amazon Game Studios) rely on Twitch to allow players to stream live.
New possibilities are being explored for how viewers can participate more actively in the gameplay. This will also be a topic, as will expansions, addons, or DLCs for existing online games. The Morrowind addon for The Elder Scrolls Online is definitely something that Zenimax will present prominently.

What do you wish for from E3?
What about you? What do you wish for from E3? Would you like to learn more about DLCs and expansions for existing games, or do you hope for completely new games to be announced? Should these be AAA online games or smaller indie games? Are you perhaps hoping for the next World of Warcraft?
Let us know what you expect from this year’s E3.
