Only very few players remain devoted to a single game forever. Perhaps apart from our predecessor generation, who thought Solitaire was the best feature of Windows 95. Most gamers accumulate a lot of games on their hard drives over the years, and unless there’s a new PC purchase on the horizon, a lot of junk data remains on the hard drives. About once a year, one resolves to clean the PC of old games to regain order and space (usually in spring – kind of a nerdy spring cleaning). However, many games are hard to part with, even if they haven’t been launched in months or years. So today we want to know from you: Which MMOs are still on your hard drive waiting to be unpacked again?
Cortyn says: When I look at my hard drive, there are quite a few games on it that I haven’t touched in years. One of them is definitely League of Legends, but it only exists so I can regularly listen to the varied intro music (the music for Vi was great!). Guild Wars 2 is also a candidate that has secured storage space only because it is a Buy2Play game. The following thought still plays a role: “I don’t have to pay for the game anymore.” That’s why I always keep it up to date – although I haven’t logged in for many months.
Yes, I could probably free up 2/3 of my storage space and wouldn’t miss anything in the coming months – apart from all the colorful shortcuts on my desktop. I am incredibly bad at parting with old games. And as long as there is no hard drive emergency, the games will probably continue to wait for me to unpack them again someday. But whether the mentioned games or Tera and WildStar will ever get my full attention again – I doubt it a bit.
