We at Mein-MMO.de are looking for new authors who want to write as freelancers from home about Pokémon GO for our site.
Who we are
Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now part of Webedia Gaming. We exclusively cover multiplayer online games that are continuously developed over a long period of time.
We are now probably the largest site for online gaming in Europe. We reach between 150,000 and 250,000 readers every day. They write about 4,000 comments a week.
Every day about 15 authors write their articles, news, and guides about online games. Curious stories are also included.
We pursue the approach of accompanying games in depth, becoming experts in individual games, and being close to the community.
What we expect
- We are looking for freelance authors with a strong commitment to the profession and a passion for online gaming. A good writing style and the willingness to continue improving it are prerequisites.
- The author should consistently manage the “Pokémon GO” franchise for us in the long term.
- Good English skills and excellent spelling in German are also important.
- As a freelance author, you independently or in collaboration with the editorial team choose gaming topics about your game and write about them.
- You write opinion pieces, guides, news, and features related to Pokémon GO.
- You will learn how to integrate these articles into our content management system WordPress and design them for the web.
- You will gain experience with our social media channels, analytics tools, and learn journalistic techniques.
- Analytical thinking is required: You write content that interests the community and learn to identify and assess these topics. The readers come first!
To be clear: This is not a full-time job, but rather a few hours a week. We expect about 4-8 news articles weekly – we are flexible. But it is necessary that time and willingness are present. The author can schedule their working hours independently.
What we are looking for
We are looking for exclusively specialist authors for Pokémon GO with this defined area of responsibility.
The job consists of managing the game Pokémon GO, which is already established on our site, taking ownership of it, taking responsibility, and expanding our role in reporting on the game.
The regular articles on Pokémon GO must be timely. News should also be current and timely. Therefore, you must be flexible in your working hours.
To do this, you should identify with Pokémon GO and have a deep understanding of it. Pokémon GO is a game that our readers follow fanatically. They notice when an author has no clue and is just trying to get by. Therefore, expertise about the game is important.
You should know the most important sources of information about the game and be able to gather information broadly.
We expect authors who get excited when the official game account tweets even the smallest detail. You write for the community. You should not think that your opinion about the game is the only right one and vigorously defend it.
Ideally, you have already gained experience in journalism, have written for other sites, or run your own blog.
Author for Pokémon GO
- Regular articles: Events with times and bonuses, boss guides for legendary new bosses (How to counter them?), explanations of new updates, news about in-game actions such as community days
- Additionally: More guides, analyses, opinion pieces
- Social: Expansion and management of our PokémonGO Facebook page and our Pokémon GO group.
- Volume: About 4-8 news items per week. Pokémon GO is an important game on our website.
- Perspective: If the author wishes and has proven themselves, they can take on a larger role in the team and then also manage other games (preferably mobile games). But for now, it is only about Pokémon GO.
