We at Mein-MMO.de are looking for a new author working from home who wants to write about FIFA 19 as a freelance author.
Who we are
Mein-MMO.de was founded in September 2013 and is now part of Webedia Gaming. We exclusively follow multiplayer online games that are developed further over a long period of time.
We have been writing about the FIFA series regularly since early 2016, focusing on the online modes Ultimate Team and Pro Clubs.
We reach between 200,000 and 250,000 unique readers every day. They write around 4000 comments each week.
About 15 authors write their articles, news, and guides about online games every day. Curious stories are also included.
We follow the approach of diving deeper into games, becoming experts in individual games, and being close to the community.
What we expect
- We are looking for a freelance author with a lot of dedication to the profession and a passion for online gaming. A good writing style and the willingness to continually improve it are essential.
- The author should manage the “FIFA” franchise firmly and ideally for years to come.
- Good English skills and excellent spelling in German are also important.
- As a freelance author, you will independently or in collaboration with the editorial team select gaming topics about your game and write about them.
- You will write opinion articles, guides, news, and features about FIFA – now about FIFA 19.
- You will learn how to integrate these articles into our content management system WordPress and create them web-appropriately.
- You will gain experience with our social media channels, analysis tools, and learn journalistic techniques.
- Analytical thinking is required: You will write content that interests the community and learn to identify and assess these topics. The readers come first!
To make it clear: This is not a full-time job, but rather a few hours a week. We expect about 3-7 news articles weekly or articles – we are flexible. But it is necessary that time and willingness are present. The author can organize their working hours independently – but should be prompt for important news.
What we are looking for
We are looking for exclusively a specialist author for FIFA 19 with this fixed area of responsibility.
The job consists of managing the game FIFA 19, which is already established on our site, taking responsibility for it, and expanding our role in the reporting on the game. This also applies to upcoming FIFA installments (FIFA 20).
The regular articles on FIFA 19 must come on time. News should also be current and timely. Therefore, you should be flexible in your working times.
In addition, you should identify with FIFA 19 and be extremely knowledgeable about it. Our readers notice when an author has no idea and just wants to get by somehow. Thus, expertise about the game is important.
You should know the most important sources of information about the game and be able to inform yourself broadly about them.
We expect authors whose phone rings and heart races when the official game account tweets even the smallest thing. You write for the community. You should also not think that your opinion about the game is the only right one and defend it vehemently.
Ideally, you have already gained experience in journalism, for example by writing for other websites or by starting your own blog. This is not a requirement, however.
Author for FIFA 19
Your tasks:
Regular articles: The Team of the Week in FUT is published every Wednesday afternoon and should appear first on Mein-MMO nationwide. An article with TOTW predictions should be published on Monday. Furthermore, FUT events should be monitored and explained, such as the Halloween event, the TOTY, or the TOTS. Your main task is to cover all news related to FUT.
Additionally: Guides, analyses, opinion articles, and top lists (such as “The 20 fastest players”)
Social: Expand and manage our FIFA 19 Facebook page.
Scope: About 3 to 7 news articles per week. Depending on how much is happening.
Perspective: If the author wishes and has proven themselves, it is possible to play a larger role in the team and manage other games as well. But for now, it’s only about FIFA 19.

When is the job available? Immediately. By the beginning of February 2019, you should already have the main responsibility for FIFA 19 on Mein-MMO. However, we have a functioning, successful team. So no one will be thrown into the deep end.
