Mortal Kombat 1 shines again with a star-studded cast, but hardly anyone expected this announcement. Megan Fox takes on the role of the bloodthirsty vampire Nitara and expresses her excitement for this role in a short character showcase.
The reboot of the beloved beat’em-up series is about to be released. It will be available on September 19 for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox, and fans can hardly wait.
However, Warner Bros. is not to be outdone at the finish line and surprises again with additional star power, after Dave Bautista.
Megan Fox joins Mortal Kombat 1 as Nitara. In the following video, you will see how she lends her voice to the vampire and hear what she herself thinks of this connection:
The 37-year-old actress Megan Fox is known from movies like “Transformers”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, or the horror movie “Jennifer’s Body”, in which she plays a half-dead, man-eating teenager and has surely already proven that she fits perfectly into the role of the bloody vampire.
The dialogue before a fight could be a reference to this horror movie. Kung Lao asks what she did with “Jen’s body”. Presumably, Mortal Kombat will continue to be entertaining, filled with a few meta-references.
It was almost like a therapy session with herself
Megan Fox not only lends her voice to Nitara. She reports in the showcase trailer that it feels like Nitara is somehow herself and being in the game would be really cool for her.
She also mentions that she had to confront parts of herself that she is not so comfortable with during the recording. However, working on Mortal Kombat 1 helped her become freer with herself and was a lot of fun.
Megan Fox describes the collaboration with Mortal Kombat 1 as a great opportunity that many would probably want. Because it is one of the greatest games of all time and basically has been on the market from the beginning. So it’s a game that many grew up with and feel connected to.
The actress describes Nitara’s character as “evil, but also good”, as the vampire does everything to save her people.
The trailer also gives you a good insight into Nitara’s gameplay. Of course, she uses characteristic vampire weapons such as sharp claws and pointed teeth to inflict damage on her opponents.
Whether she just inflicts cuts or actually tears whole pieces of skin off, Nitara definitely makes her opponents bleed and moves with an acrobatic grace across the battlefield.
