In Valheim , only certain animals can actually be tamed to provide advantages to the Vikings. However, a player has now designed a mod that allows every opponent to be domesticated… even giant, hairy trolls.
What players are doing now: Valheim allows players to tame animals. In the game, only wolves, wild boars, and the large (but actually quite peaceful) Lox are planned.
However, one player has found a way to keep even significantly more dangerous creatures as pets – and even breed them. More precisely: He didn’t just find the way but simply made the possibility himself.
With a mod by the user “buzz”, it is possible to tame all kinds of opponents. This includes the giant trolls that roam the Black Forest and usually stomp around their caves.
What kind of mod is this? The mod is called “AllTameable” and does exactly what its name promises: you can tame all creatures in Valheim that you find. By default, only trolls and goblin brutes can be tamed with the mod.
However, if you delve a little into the config file of the mod, you can make all opponents in the game tamable – even bosses. You can also configure how long taming takes, how close you need to stand to the opponent, and what food you need.

You can find the file at the path “steamappscommonValheimBepInExconfigbuzz.valheim.AllTameable.cfg” and you can open it with a text editor. In our guide, you will learn how to install mods in Valheim.

In Valheim, many mods serve to make the game a bit easier or to improve the UI. However, some players make it harder for themselves and install mods to turn Valheim into a true hardcore survival game.
Taming trolls in Valheim… but why?
What a troll can be used for: If you want to tame a troll yourself… go ahead. The giant brutes can certainly serve as very efficient defense for your base and can take quite a beating.
However, keep in mind that mods only work on your own server – locally or dedicated. If other players are on your server, they also need to install the mod beforehand or obtain it from you for everything to work smoothly.
You can also make the game easier for yourself without mods, for example, through admin commands. These allow you, among other things, to build for free or have a god mode. Or a command to tame all creatures in the vicinity. You can find all admin commands for Valheim in the practical overview.
