I wish you all a nice Wednesday morning! Okay, the morning is not that nice. I actually wanted to complain to you today about how bad it is to carry certain people through a raid who don’t show the same motivation as you do – but I’ll save that for next week. Let’s get to Overwatch.
Sombra – Who cares anymore?
As some of you may have noticed, the whole “game” surrounding Sombra reached a new peak yesterday. Because on the site amomentincrime.com there has been a percentage display running for several months, which finally reached 100% last night at 21:05. The fan community stared intently at the last percentage points as the “uploading” of the files was finally completed. What would happen now? Would Sombra just “hack” herself into the game? Is there perhaps a cinematic in which she announces herself? Is there a new test server where you can try her out?
But no. Nothing at all.
Two lines in the code change, which now say that our Bastion unit E-54 has been compromised.
You know, I’m slowly getting fed up with all this Sombra stuff. It’s just frustrating, and after so long of wandering around, the fun of this kind of game simply gets lost. I already roll my eyes when I read a new Sombra hint somewhere that might mean I have to report on it.
I have no idea who or what exactly Sombra is. But I know what she will be: a disappointment. As long as one has been chasing this digital ghost, who only speaks in vague statements and never leaves anything concrete to look forward to – it can only fail. Sombra cannot fulfill the expectations that have been built up even now.
P.S.: With my luck, between writing this text and its publication, so much time has passed that Blizzard has actually released something. But I think I could handle that.
