The mechs were added to Fortnite in Season 10. However, there have already been several issues with them during the season. Now another problem has occurred, and the mechs have been temporarily disabled by Epic – this happened just before the new 10.30 update, which is supposed to be released today.
What happened? Today, September 11th at 8:00 AM, Fortnite tweeted that the mech has been temporarily removed from all game modes. Epic is working on resolving an issue with the mechs.
They will bring an update when they have more information on this.
What is the problem? Epic Games has not yet announced what the issue is. However, about 2 weeks ago, there was already a serious bug with the mechs. The streamer SypherPK took heavy damage from the mech’s stomp in a match, even though he was far away from it.
Here is the video:
After that, the mech was removed from the game for some time. However, on September 3, 2019, it returned to all game modes.
“Remove the mechs completely, Epic”
Community opinions on this: Many in the community believe that Fortnite should just permanently remove the mechs:
- Streamer Dakotaz seems happy that the mechs are gone for now
- Pro player FaZe Thiefs asks Fortnite to just remove the mech completely.
Why doesn’t Fortnite remove the mechs? Epic has hinted several times that they will not remove the mechs from Fortnite. One of the reasons is that they want to give all players a chance at a successful gaming experience.
Another reason could be that the mechs are connected to the story in Fortnite and Epic still needs the mechs for future events involving the Visitor in Fortnite.
By the way, the 10.30 update is supposed to be released today. Check here what you might expect:
