But that is still a priority. Many people are already writing obituaries for me. [They say] ‘Oh, he will never finish.’ Maybe they are right. But I don’t know. I live in the moment! I seem to be pretty vital!

He also mentioned that he would never retire, as he is not a golfer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he is currently focusing on adapting the short stories of his old friend Howard Waldrop. The two authors were friends for over 60 years until Waldrop passed away in early 2024.
