Can’t get enough of Call of Duty: Warzone? Then try a new setup for the submachine gun OTs 9. Data expert Anthony “TrueGameData” Zachman shows how you can run faster than the train with it.
What’s it about? A high movement speed in Call of Duty: Warzone brings you several advantages:
- You are harder to hit
- You can change positions faster
- Better “strafing” helps in firefights
Movement can be very important in Warzone. As a good player, you need to master not only your weapon, but also controlling your character can make a big difference. “TrueGameData” has now shown the setup with which you sprint the fastest in Warzone – and it’s also very strong.
Warzone: OTs 9 setup outpaces the train
What does the setup look like? The weapon with the highest possible movement speed in the game is the submachine gun OTs 9. Even the base speed while sprinting brings you a bit more than 7 meters per second forward. For comparison: A meta setup of the assault rifle XM4 carries you only 6.21 meters per second across the map.
With this setup, you can achieve a sprint speed of a record 7.71 meters/second (Source: truegamedata.com):
- Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
- Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
- Stock: Speznas Stock
- Underbarrel: Patrol Grip
- Ammunition: Fast VDV 40-Round Magazine
How strong is the setup? Despite the focus on movement speed, the setup packs a punch. Compared to other meta setups of the OTs 9, you aim slightly later and your hip fire is poor – but you gain advantages in movement and mobility.
It depends a bit on your play style: If you are moving a lot during your fights, constantly looking for flanking opportunities, and playing a lot with “strafing”, then you should try the OTs 9 with the movement setup. If you focus more on your aim speed and time-to-kill, you might currently prefer the “old” AUG SMG.
Strafing can be done either while aiming or not. In Warzone, you are generally faster at strafing when not aiming, but you must aim should an enemy appear.
Am I really faster than the train? With this setup, you are indeed a bit faster than the train during a sprint – even without the tactical sprint. TrueGameData shows the comparison in a video, and we will embed the corresponding segment here. The video starts at 6:35:

How can I be even faster? To increase your speed a little more, you can use the “slide-cancel”.
In Warzone, you can sprint faster for a short time using the tactical sprint, but this only works once per sprint. You need to briefly stop your sprint to make the tactical sprint available again.
With the slide-cancel, you can bypass this mechanic and recharge the tactical sprint without losing speed. Additionally, sliding moves your hitboxes, making it significantly harder for enemies to land a headshot.
Slide-cancel in Warzone:
- Activate tactical sprint
- Press the slide button
- Press the slide button again while sliding
- Then press the jump button
- Start tactical sprint again
Once you slide, you can cancel the slide by pressing the button again. After that, you need to crouch and press the “jump” button to stand back up. Additionally, pressing the “jump” button resets the tactical sprint, and when you stand again, you can immediately go back to sprinting.
You need to activate the buttons relatively quickly in succession. If you jump a little after sliding, you pressed the “jump” button too late. For an optimal slide-cancel, enable “slide on button press” instead of “hold” and “automatic tactical sprint” in the settings.
How do the values stack up for movement speed? TrueGameData also explained in his video how to increase speed values in Warzone and which values go together:
- If you increase your movement speed, the sprint speed also increases
- “Aiming movement speed” is a separate value – no improvement from movement speed
- Normal movement speed also improves your strafing while hip-firing
- If you improve your strafing, it affects both values in sight and hip fire
- “Movement speed while firing” actually only increases your speed when you pull the trigger
Movement and mobility should not be underestimated in Warzone. If you disappear behind a corner faster than your opponent or change positions at a surprisingly high speed, it can throw your enemies off rhythm in combat. However, it takes a lot of practice to control that high speed.
Especially with a high field of view on the PC, Warzone suddenly becomes a sprint world championship and plays quite differently. If you can handle it and have full control of your movements, you can gain significant advantages.
