The production for the fourth season of “The Witcher” is gearing up. Now we know which famous actor will be joining the cast.
Famous actor takes on the role of another main character: The fourth season of The Witcher is often in the spotlight due to its recasting of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.
Now there’s news of a cast expansion that should particularly delight fans of the Matrix films. Laurence Fishburne, who played the role of Morpheus back then, is now stepping into the role of Regis in the fourth season of The Witcher.
Regis is one of the main characters from the Blood and Wine expansion of The Witcher 3. He is a wise surgeon with a mysterious past and will accompany Geralt on his journey in the next season.

The Matrix star himself seems very excited about his role and the filming. In an interview with Netflix, he reveals: “I am really looking forward to joining the cast and exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher.”
What you can expect from the 4th season: We don’t know much about the new season of The Witcher yet. As Netflix indicated, production is set to begin in spring 2024. So this might take a few weeks or months.
The fourth season will again follow the three characters Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri through a land devastated by war and numerous demons, with all three taking different paths. However, Geralt of Rivia will roam the continent in search of Ciri, accompanied by Regis, as we now know.
It’s also clear that the fourth season is unlikely to have a good start. Particularly, actor Liam Hemsworth will likely have to put in a considerable effort to win over the fans. The announcement that Henry Cavill would be leaving the series dissatisfied many fans.
How well the fourth season will be received overall and how well Fishburne will portray Regis remains to be seen.
