New Mass Effect teased
The developers at BioWare are apparently working on a new game in the “Mass Effect” series. Casey Hudson revealed this in a blog post. It states:
Here at BioWare, a team of veterans is hard at work crafting the next chapter of the “Mass Effect” universe. We are in the very early stages of the project and cannot say more than that, but we look forward to sharing our vision with you and revealing where we will be traveling next.

While there are no specific details such as a setting or release date – a new Mass Effect is in the works. Fans of the series can at least be happy that another game will be released in the near future. After the flop of Mass Effect: Andromeda, there were concerns that no further game would be released.
“Mass Effect” remaster coming in Spring 2021
For months, there have been rumors circulating that BioWare is working on a remaster of the original trilogy of Mass Effect. This has now been confirmed. The game will be called “Mass Effect Legendary Edition” and will include all single-player content of the original series. This includes:
- Mass Effect 1, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3
- All single-player DLCs
- All promotional weapons and armor
However, the popular multiplayer mode from Mass Effect 3 will not be included and will not be re-added.
What has been improved? According to Casey Hudson’s blog post, the team has been working primarily on adjusting the game’s visuals. Upgrades include “super-sharp resolution, faster frame rates, and beautiful visual enhancements.” Optimization for 4K Ultra HD is mentioned.
On which platforms will the Legendary Edition be released? The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, backward compatibility with enhancements for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 is also to be ensured.
When will the “Mass Effect Legendary Edition” be released? The release is scheduled for Spring 2021, which means sometime in April, May, or June. A price has not yet been announced.
