Ryder is nothing without the right weapon. Here we show you the arguably best shotgun in Mass Effect: Andromeda: the Dhan Shotgun.
The starting shot for Mass Effect: Andromeda has been fired, and players are fighting their way through the Andromeda Galaxy piece by piece to save humanity and some other species. However, this is not always easy, as the right armament is essential, and hardly any weapon meets all of Ryder’s needs. Right… hardly any weapon.
The Dhan Shotgun is the glorious exception, as this weapon makes short work of most standard enemies with just one shot, even at medium to long distances! Even stronger foes like Fiends or Hydras fall to the weapon with 2-3 shots.
But what to do when the weapon simply won’t drop? You craft it!
We explain how crafting works in Mass Effect: Andromeda in this post.
You can find the Dhan Shotgun in Heleus technology, where you first need to research it. Choose the appropriate level (depending on character level) and then craft it during development. At the start of the game, resources may not be available yet, but after a few hours there should be plenty in your inventory. If in doubt, just check a few vendors until you have the necessary materials.
What makes the Dhan Shotgun so special?
Unlike other shotguns, the Dhan fires not multiple pellets but a single projectile that is fired in a slight arc – similar to a crossbow. This allows the weapon to remain precise even at longer ranges, and the concentrated 700-1000 damage points (or even more) land precisely in one spot. Such firepower can hardly be escaped by any enemy.
Through improvements (Augmentations), the weapon can be made even more powerful during the crafting process. The Aerial Performance Optimizer ensures that the weapon deals 35% additional damage when you are hovering just above the ground.
Combined with the biotic power “Charge”, you are always close to the enemy to greet them immediately with a deadly bolt. Anyone who invests talent points in the “Soldier” tree and increases shotgun damage will likely be on one-hit-wonder paradise for a while.
Which weapon have you had particularly good experiences with and why?
