The developers of Mass Effect: Andromeda discuss the plans for the first patches. Fans hope for a better character creator.
Mass Effect: Andromeda has been available worldwide for a few hours now and is being eagerly played by fans on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While many fans are posting their best experiences in the game on Twitter, there are also a lot of questions about bugs in the game and the rather unsatisfactory character editor.
The lead designer of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ian S. Frazier, has answered some questions and reports of bugs on Twitter, and has also addressed the community’s demands.
A major point of criticism remains the facial animation of the main character and many NPCs. While the graphics and animations of the game are of high quality, the somewhat emotionless faces of the characters stand out negatively.
It is still unknown whether this will be fixed or changed in an upcoming patch. Frazier only stated: “We are looking at many things we want to fix with a patch and we want to continue supporting the game in the future. I can’t say more about it yet.“
Regarding the character editor, which has already caused a lot of mockery because it is much easier to design an unattractive character than an appealing one, there were also a few comments: “I can’t promise anything yet, but we are weighing different options to improve it.”
Additionally, there is a list of things that may be fixed and added to the character editor – many fans would like more customization options.
Finally, many reports of bugs are coming into BioWare, talking about floating kett or objects that cannot be interacted with. Most of these errors are already on the radar.
In our review, we encountered few bugs – you can read the complete review here.
