It is now official. No DLCs and no updates will be released for the single player of Mass Effect Andromeda.
There were many hints about it, and now it is official. The team of Mass Effect: Andromeda has announced that the single player part of the game will no longer be supported.
The last update was 1.10 – there are no further updates or DLCs planned to expand this part of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
No DLCs, no patches for the single player – multiplayer already
According to the team, this was the plan from the beginning. The future story will be told through multiplayer missions and through comics and novels.
In the coming weeks, the multiplayer team will explain how the story will continue.
In the letter from the developers, they thank the support of millions. They are proud of what they have created. The team emphasizes that they worked hard to implement player feedback, such as improving animations.

Behind the scenes, it looks different
Even if the letter from the developers gives the impression that everything went super, the headlines about the game tell a different story.
Mass Effect Andromeda was heavily criticized even before its release, especially the failed facial animations came under fire from the internet.
Sales and reviews were only moderate. Apparently, Electronic Arts considers Mass Effect: Andromeda a failure. They have effectively dissolved the studio behind the game, BioWare Montreal, and merged it with another.
For Electronic Arts, other projects like Anthem or Star Wars Battlefront 2 seem to be more important in the medium and long term than Mass Effect Andromeda. Reports and actions from Electronic Arts have indicated this. Already in May, anonymous sources reported that Mass Effect is on hold for now. All news since then seem to confirm this.
Mass Effect Andromeda is seen, at least commercially, as a failure – even though some fans and critics liked ME:A very much – like our tester Cortyn.
