The weapon selection in Mass Effect: Andromeda is vast. We tell you which weapons are most suitable in each category: The best weapons in Mass Effect: Andromeda, in our opinion.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda, players have great freedom to customize weapons to their liking. Not only can the desired weapon be built, but it can also be further improved with augmentations. As if that weren’t enough, weapon modifications can even be added later to further customize the behavior of the weapons. It’s good that each player can independently name their custom-built weapons to distinguish them.
However, there is a quite strict limit in ME:A that drastically limits weapon manufacturing: research points. Especially at high levels, it often takes many hours of play to gather enough research data to create a weapon at the player’s level.
But which weapon should you research and why? We present a weapon from each category that is definitely worth crafting. These are our favorite weapons.
- The Asari Sword (melee weapon) – on this page
- The Black Widow (sniper rifle)
- The Scorpion Pistol (pistol)
- The Dhan Shotgun (shotgun)
- The Valkyrie Assault Rifle (assault rifle)
The Asari Sword (best melee weapon)
The sword of the Asari may be a bit unusual in the SciFi universe of Mass Effect and might remind one more of knights and castles than of laser weapons, but don’t be deceived by the Asari Sword. While the animation is slower than that of the Omni-blade, the damage is significantly greater. And it gets even better: the weapon is biotic and makes Ryder temporarily invulnerable when attacking.
The crafting of the weapon is thus worthwhile to get out of tight situations. Even at level 1, the Asari Sword is a loyal companion throughout many stretches of the game.
