At the San Diego Comic Con, the action-adventure Marvel’s Avengers was showcased once again. The developers revealed many interesting details about the loot and how you can upgrade your heroes.
What is Marvel’s Avengers? At E3, publisher Square Enix provided a closer look at the action-adventure developed by Crystal Dynamics. You will experience an exciting story, in which you alternately take on the roles of Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Black Widow to complete missions.
There will also be a separate multiplayer mode that you can experience with your friends. Here, you will take on the roles of the Avengers, but you will be able to customize them according to your personal preferences and shape them individually. The developers have now revealed more about this.

What was shown at the Comic Con? The developers presented the first gameplay footage from the campaign behind closed doors and showcased how cool the abilities of the individual heroes are.
It was stated that fun takes precedence over realism, leading to a massive destruction spree in the levels. The customization options of the heroes and the loot were also key topics.
What about customization? Everyone knows what Iron Man or Captain America’s armor looks like. But you can change this completely.
You can adjust the colors and use completely new costumes. You can turn Thor into a Viking or put Hulk in a gangster suit. Additionally, you can give the characters war paint.
The developers plan to offer many customization options. This way, everyone can create their own version of the superheroes.
Loot and Skills Matter
What about the loot? Loot plays a significant role in Marvel’s Avengers. The developers did not reveal much at the Comic Con. However, there are rarity grades for certain items, typically indicated by colors.
It seems that loot will not affect the appearance of the characters. This is purely determined by cosmetic items. The loot you find seemingly only affects gameplay, such as how much damage you deal or how well you are protected.
How do you upgrade abilities? What was shown behind closed doors at the Comic Con was a classic skill tree with various abilities. Each character has individual skills that you unlock and can also upgrade.
What else do we know about Marvel’s Avengers? The single-player campaign of the game is said to be very cinematic, but you can only play it alone. The story revolves around the Avengers trying to stop a terrorist attack but realizing too late that it is a distraction. This leads to many deaths, and the Avengers are subsequently hated and disbanded.
During the single-player campaign, you unlock side missions that you can also experience with your friends in multiplayer. It is important to pay attention to the composition of the team since each hero can only appear once.
With further updates and throughout the story, you will improve your abilities, customize your heroes, and later new superheroes from the Marvel universe with special powers will be added, which you will unlock.
