Jonathan Majors, the actor of supervillain Kang was found guilty in court. After Marvel already fired him, the company is now reportedly taking further steps to limit the character’s influence on the comic universe even more.
Just like Thanos erased the heroes with a snap in Avengers 3: Infinity War, Marvel is reportedly also trying to erase Kang from their universe as much as possible.
Why does Marvel want to get rid of Kang? The actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of violent assaults against his ex-girlfriend in court.
Just a few hours after the verdict, Marvel announced the end of the actor’s MCU career: Jonathan Majors was fired.

Avengers 5 may receive a new title
According to sources from The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel now wants to clean up the whole situation with Jonathan Majors.
They are already rewriting the films that were supposed to feature the villain Kang, either to completely remove the character from the scripts or at least reduce his influence.
Additionally, the 5th and latest Avengers film was set to be released under the title Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, according to reports, they will also choose a new name here to remove the character from it as well.
However, the title change was reportedly not made solely because of the court verdict. Even before it was announced, they had already begun to minimize the character’s presence after Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, which was the first major film with Kang, performed poorly.

What the new Avengers film will be called, when it will be released, and who the new big villain will be has not yet been announced.
The 5th installment of the superhero series is planned for spring 2026. The subsequent part, Avengers 6: Secret Wars, is set to be released one year later, in 2027.
It remains open whether the character Kang will be completely removed or if another actor will take over the villain role as a less influential character.
