In Marvel Rivals, there are many currencies that you can exchange for items. MeinMMO gives you an overview.
What currencies are there? The following currencies can be obtained in Marvel Rivals:
- Crystal
- Chrono Tokens
- Units
However, Marvel Rivals is not pay-to-win. All content you can obtain with the currencies is purely cosmetic in nature. They do not provide any advantage in the game.

How to use the currencies properly
Crystals (Gold)
What are crystals? Crystals can only be exchanged for other currencies and are basically only used to convert real money into in-game currency.
How do I get crystals? You can only obtain crystals by exchanging real money for them in the in-game store.
Chrono Tokens (Purple)
What are Chrono Tokens? Chrono Tokens are the easiest currency to obtain. You can exchange them in your Battle Pass for rewards. They are reset with each new season and can thus be collected again.
How do I get Chrono Tokens? You can earn Chrono Tokens by completing missions:
- Event missions
- Daily missions
- Challenges
- Achievements
The missions are updated according to their own timeframe. So if you don’t complete a mission, there’s no need to worry because you don’t necessarily have to fulfill them.
Units (Blue)
What are units? Units are probably the most interesting currency in Marvel Rivals, as they are exchanged for cosmetic items.
How do I get units? You can get this currency by exchanging crystals for them. But some fulfilled achievements also grant you units as a reward. You can view your achievements by clicking on your profile picture and then going to “Achievements” on the far right. You can then exchange achievement points for units.
