The new superhero Ant-Man caused a bug invasion in the Free2Play MMO Marvel Heroes 2015.
A superhero named Ant-Man who brings bugs: Gazillion should actually pay into the pun jar.
Players do not find it that funny, who had to patch the Free2Play MMO multiple times in the last few days. First came Ant-Man, then he brought the bugs, and then they were fixed again.
The issues included lags, disconnects, and especially ugly “reroll bugs,” where players were reverted to an earlier time and could lose levels, costumes, and other items. Fixes and emergency patches were necessary.
Currently, only players who buy Ant-Man can use him. He and Dr. Doom cannot be played temporarily. Otherwise, all super characters are available to players, but only up to level 10 – then they either have to unlock them with real money or buy them with “Eternity Shards”, drops in the game.
Ant-Man is a logical choice for the next hero: After all, a movie with him is on the way. But they did not choose the troubled Hank Pym as the protagonist, the Ant-Man of earlier days. Pym struggled with depression, feelings of inferiority, identity crises, and outbursts against his wife, the Wasp, during his life as a genius with changing body size. Oh – and he also created Ultron. Instead, Marvel puts the ex-con and tech expert Scott Lang in the suit. Pym appears in a consultant role in the film.
