The controversial streamer Corinna Kopf (26) became successful with Fortnite, but mainly shows gambling now. She blames “softened viewers” for the restrictions that Twitch wants to impose on gambling.
Who is Corinna Kopf? With over a million followers, Corinna Kopf is one of the bigger streamers on Twitch. She switched to Facebook Gaming in 2019 due to a temporary ban, but has been regularly streaming on Twitch again since March 2022.
On Twitch, she is mainly active in the gambling category “Slots” and ranked 6th among the most-watched streamers in this category in the last 30 days (via sullygnome, as of: 29.09.2022). Like many other streamers in this category, she had a deal with the online casino Stake.
After Twitch announced on September 21 tighter regulations for gambling streams that are set to take effect in mid-October, Kopf criticized the platform in a stream.
Before streamers were successful with gambling, these streamers were already prominent.
“Soon we won’t be allowed to do anything anymore”
This is how Corinna Kopf reacted to the restrictions: In a stream on September 21, Kopf criticized the new gambling regulations. She fears that soon all “unhealthy habits” could be banned.
She mainly holds society responsible for this.
Everyone is so softened nowadays. You are influenced every day to do so many things that are financially, physically, and mentally bad for you.

This is what Corinna Kopf fears: Soon, you won’t even be allowed to drink on stream, according to Kopf, because that promotes alcoholism. Smoking could also become a thing of the past.
This is a dangerous thing; soon one might not be allowed to do anything, fears Kopf. Instead of more restrictions, Kopf apparently prefers to rely on personal responsibility. The streamer says it should be the player’s decision whether they want to show gambling or talk about it on their channels.
Background: After a scandal involving the addicted Twitch streamer “ItsSlikeR”, several big streamers started a call to ban gambling on the platform. Twitch backed down and restricted gambling.
From October 18, gambling on sites that do not have a license in the USA or another country with appropriate consumer protection will be banned. This includes Stake, which was even explicitly mentioned by Twitch (via Twitter).
What were the reactions? While Twitch received a lot of praise for its decision, the big gambling streamers reacted rather negatively. One of the biggest casino streamers, Tyler “Trainwreck” Niknam, sparked a huge scandal.
Corinna Kopf clashed with popular streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys. She was among the streamers who had called for a ban and thus came under the fire of Trainwreck and Corinna Kopf.
While Trainwreck claimed in a leaked call that Pokimane was “the most corrupt person on Twitch,” Kopf accused her of hypocrisy. In a tweet, she hinted that Pokimane had also shown gambling in a video.
Pokimane then offered Kopf a chance to join her team as an employee and maybe edit videos or something if she needed a new job.
What’s next for Corinna Kopf? That is still unknown. She still shows gambling in her streams, which she titles “Gambling is Bad”. Besides Twitch, however, she also runs successful YouTube and Instagram accounts to which she can escape.
What do you think about it? Is everyone responsible for themselves, or should Twitch protect its viewers?
Also, the current biggest streamer in the world, former Overwatch pro Félix “Qc” Lengyel, received a lot of criticism for his gambling streams. He has now admitted that these streams were not okay – he just didn’t care.
