The Aston Martin Valkyrie is one of the most exclusive supercars you can indulge in today. However, a buyer of the speedy car believes that the luxury vehicle has so many defects that it nearly resulted in an accident in August 2024.
What are these defects? A German car enthusiast bought the Aston Martin Valkyrie in 2018 for 3 million euros and has driven about 441 kilometers with the supercar since its delivery in 2022.
During this time, the owner noticed more and more problems with the speedy car, claiming that the Valkyrie has “more defects than all my other cars combined.” These include:
- Electrical defect shortly after purchase – a known issue with the car, via motorpasion.com.
- On the way to the Aston Martin workshop, there was allegedly transportation damage.
- The car is said to have sunk due to a fault in the rocket locker system.
Particularly dangerous is said to be a very normal characteristic of the car: The V12 engine is so loud that the driver’s hearing is impaired. As a result, there was allegedly a near-accident with an ambulance in August 2024, which he is said not to have heard despite its siren.
It should be noted that the Aston Martin Valkyrie is specially equipped with a microphone system that records external sounds and transmits them to the driver via headphones. The owner’s complaint: the headphones also do not work.

What is the current status? Through a lawsuit, the disappointed buyer is now demanding a return of the car as well as a refund from Aston Martin. However, the company rejected the lawsuit:
- The defects listed by the buyer are not significant and are characteristic of such an extremely powerful vehicle – it requires special servicing and very careful handling.
- Moreover, the demand is invalid, as it was submitted in the court in Aachen, while all legal issues related to the car must be resolved in England.
- Even if they were to take the car back, they would have to calculate compensation of about 64,000 euros for the 441 kilometers the car has already covered.
The buyer’s lawyer states that his client, as a private individual, is protected by European regulations and is therefore allowed to sue at his place of residence. A final outcome of the legal dispute is likely still a while away. Until then, the expensive speedster remains unused in the garage.
What do I need to know about the Valkyrie? The luxury car from Aston Martin was first introduced in July 2016 and went into production in 2021. The hybrid sports car was developed in collaboration with the team at Red Bull Racing, delivers up to 1,176 hp, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.
