When does the event run? You have now a week full of stardust bonuses. From tonight, August 13th at 10 PM, until August 20th, you will get more stardust on almost all actions.
It is the reward from the global challenge for the GO Fest in Yokohama. There, all teams have completed their tasks, which is why you now get more dust as a reward.
This event is so important: Many trainers rate this event as the most important event of the year. After all, there is sometimes triple stardust, making it the most important resource in the game abundant.
What bonuses are there? There is significantly more stardust on almost all actions. These bonuses are:
- Triple stardust when catching Pokémon
- Triple stardust when hatching eggs
- Triple stardust from raids
- Stardust pieces last for an hour instead of 30 minutes
How to quickly collect a lot of stardust
What you need to know beforehand: Stardust can be obtained for every Pokémon. So it’s worthwhile if you catch Pantimos, Volbeat, or Roselia. You will be rewarded with every Pokémon.
This is the fastest way: Use the catch trick when catching Pokémon. At first, it may be a bit tricky, but over time you will save an incredible amount of time and be able to catch significantly more Pokémon.

This gives the most stardust: From all actions, you can still make the most stardust just by catching Pokémon.
So if you really want to make stardust, you should focus on that.
Especially evolutions should be caught. They bring even more stardust.
This item you should always use: If you want to collect stardust, you should always use the stardust piece. During the event, it also lasts for an hour, making it even more worthwhile.
With the stardust piece, you get all stardust actions multiplied by 1.5. A normal Pokémon then gives you 450 stardust.
This is where playing is the most worthwhile: Look for areas with many spawns. Set routes where you know many Pokémon appear. You can easily walk these routes and make a lot of dust.
If you are looking for good places, you should also check large parking lots of supermarkets or industrial areas. Here you often find large cluster spawns that are really worthwhile.
These actions can be well combined with the event
There are some actions in Pokémon GO that also bring a lot of stardust but are often forgotten. We give you an overview.
The first catch of the day: The first Pokémon you catch each day gives more stardust. Especially the bonus on the 7th day is huge. So it’s worth it if you activate a stardust piece here and catch the first Pokémon with it.
Clearing quest stack: If you complete field research but do not catch the Pokémon from it, they will end up in the quest stack. You can stack up to 100 Pokémon in there.
If your stardust piece is already running, you can also catch some Pokémon from the quest stack. They will give you 450 stardust like any other Pokémon or even more for evolutions.
Completing the right quests: Some current field researches also involve evolutions. It is worthwhile to complete these during the event, as evolutions from quests can give 1350 dust. These quests are worthwhile:
- Catch 5 Fighting-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Kapilz
- Use 10 Razz Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Krakeelo
- Use 5 Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with an Ultrigaria
- Use 5 Nanab Berries to catch Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with a Schlukwech
Setting the right lures: For several months, there have been 3 new lures in Pokémon GO. If you look at the possible Pokémon of these modules, the moss module is especially worthwhile. Here, you can regularly attract Bibor and Smettbo. These are final evolutions that give you even 2250 stardust.
This also gives stardust: Some actions in the game are not affected by bonuses, but still bring stardust. It is therefore worthwhile to perform them in conjunction with a stardust piece:
- Feeding berries in gyms
- Opening gifts that contain stardust
- PvP battles when you receive stardust as a reward
- The weekly reward from Adventure Sync on Monday at 9 AM
Stardust from hatching and raiding – Is it worth it?
Not only catching Pokémon is rewarded with more stardust during the event. Hatching eggs and raid battles also yield triple the amount of dust.
Is hatching eggs worth it? If you like spending money on incubators, you should go full throttle during this event. Especially 10 km eggs yield a massive amount of stardust and bring even more through a stardust piece.
It’s best to hatch the eggs so that they hatch along with a stardust piece. This way, it’s worth even more.
Moreover, you can hatch eggs while catching Pokémon. So you won’t lose any time hatching. If you have enough incubators, you won’t go wrong by hatching eggs.
Is raiding during the event worth it? If you use a stardust piece, you will receive 4500 dust per raid. That’s a lot, but in the same time, you could also catch 10 Pokémon and get the same amount.
Raids are not pointless, but you can earn dust better in other ways. So it is not worthwhile if you go on a raid tour just to get stardust.
The exception here is the Raid day with Suicune. Here the raids are everywhere and you can quickly do one raid after another. Over 100,000 dust in 3 hours is therefore easily achievable.
