The executives at Hasbro revealed details about the revenues from Q2 2025 during the recent earnings call. In particular, 2 brands from Wizards of the Coast performed well.
Which 2 brands are they?
- Thanks to Magic: The Gathering and Monopoly Go, Wizards of the Coast was able to increase revenues by 16 percent compared to the previous quarter.
- A particularly great success was the crossover in Magic with Final Fantasy. Apparently, not only colleague Jasmin has set aside some money for the new trading card edition, but many others as well: In just one single day, according to CEO Christian Cocks, 200 million US dollars could be achieved through the sale of the new cards.
- For comparison: The also successful crossover with Lord of the Rings took 6 months for that.
- The CEO further explains that the demand for the new Final Fantasy cards was so high that they initially could not produce enough. They had to increase the production run fourfold to keep up.
The next known franchise is already ready for a new crossover with Magic. On September 26, cards from the Marvel Spider-Man universe will land in your decks. The already introduced cards can be found at magic.wizards.com.
