The streamer Ludwig Ahgren (27) surprised his fans with a curious livestream on YouTube. For 7 hours, he copied word for word another streamer who was currently live on Twitch. But hardly any of his viewers noticed. MeinMMO explains what it’s all about.
Who is it about?
- Ludwig Ahgren, known online mostly by his first name, is the former golden boy of Twitch and one of the most influential streamers in the gaming industry
- In 2021, he switched to competing platform YouTube Gaming, where he was immediately banned
- He has 3.4 million followers on YouTube
- Ludwig cares a lot about his content, he even cheated once to make his streams more entertaining
Ludwig gained fame through the hype surrounding Among Us. If you have always wanted to see what the deduction game looks like in VR, check out the video.
Ludwig copies Twitch stream for his YouTube channel
This is the stream in question: On August 15, Ludwig surprised his fans with an unusual stream. Instead of his usual setup, a poorly lit bedroom was visible in the background, and the stream started outside his usual schedule.
His explanation: He does all this to become the biggest streamer in the world.
This is how Ludwig wants to become the biggest streamer in the world: Ludwig had the genius-dumb idea to simply copy the current biggest streamer on Twitch to gain some of his success.
The biggest streamer on Twitch is xQc. So, Ludwig copied xQc’s stream for 7 hours.
The streamer even downgrades equipment to be more like xQc
This is how Ludwig copied xQc:
- The time: Ludwig adjusted the timing of his stream to start simultaneously with xQc. However, the popular Twitch streamer threw a wrench in his plans and did not show up for the scheduled “Among Us” stream. As a result, Ludwig was able to start only with a delay of 9 hours.
- The title: Ludwig wrote the title of his stream in uppercase letters, filled it with emojis and keywords. xQc names his streams in this way as well.
- The setup: From the camera angle to the picture and sound quality to the poorly lit background, everything was supposed to remind viewers of xQc’s streams. For this, Ludwig also gave up his usual microphone and apparently used a worse camera.
- The style: Ludwig seems to have studied his role model very closely, as he surprisingly well imitated how xQc sits, speaks, and moves. Attentive xQc viewers could particularly recognize sudden outbursts, gesticulating, and some typical facial expressions.
- The sequence: Basically, the entire sequence. The original often starts its streams with some music, so Ludwig did that too. He even copied the fact that xQc had forgotten to plug in his microphone. Then he simply watched videos for 3 hours. Although these were not the same ones as xQc’s, Ludwig scrolled through his feed and looked at what was suggested to him just like xQc. When xQc switched to CS:GO, Ludwig followed suit and then jumped from game to game.
- The outro: When Ludwig ended his stream after 7 hours and let xQc’s catchy outro play as credits, the confusion among viewers was huge. Only then did Ludwig clarify to his fans.

Why did he do it? The action was probably meant to provide content for Ludwig’s YouTube channel. A video is expected to follow in the coming days. Ludwig has already revealed that he wants to become the biggest streamer in the world with this.
How did he manage it? Ludwig stated that he had been wearing an earpiece the whole time. Through it, someone informed him what xQc was doing.
What do the viewers say? Many didn’t notice what was going on at first and treated the stream like any other. However, some reported having suspected something. Others discovered entirely new sides of themselves. One viewer said he enjoyed the stream so much that he might start watching xQc.
Overall, many fans seemed to have enjoyed this type of stream and wish for more of it.
Even Ludwig admits: “Maybe there is something to this xQc guy after all.”
The real xQc has recently made headlines mainly with casino streams. Therefore, some viewers were relieved that xQc skipped gambling this time.
If you want to see the two streams in direct comparison, you can do so on Ludwig’s YouTube channel and on the Twitch channel of xQc.
What do you think? Would you have noticed what Ludwig was doing, or have you followed the streams? Is there perhaps a streamer you would like to see in the role of another? Feel free to leave a comment with your opinion.
Big streamers like xQc and Ludwig often have a special position when it comes to bans. It’s not uncommon for bans to be shortened or lifted altogether if the reach is large enough. The case of Asmongold’s recent ban in WoW shows how much this special treatment annoys some viewers.
