A user bought a handful of Nvidia RTX 3070 graphics cards for 550 euros. But the community doesn’t trust the whole thing. Because who would be so foolish as to sell such valuable graphics cards for a fraction of their value?
Graphics cards are among the most expensive components you can install in your gaming PC. Now, a user claims to have bought a dozen expensive graphics cards for 550 euros. Months ago, there were big problems finding a graphics card to buy.
The community is actively debating whether the user is a lucky one, a scammer, or someone who might have ended up buying stolen goods.
There are also other people who wanted to save a lot of money by buying a graphics card. But the story didn’t end well for the owner (and the GPU):

What does the buyer say? In his first post on reddit he wrote about a picture that he bought everything for 550 US dollars (around 560 euros). The picture shows two mining rigs with a total of 11 RTX 3070 graphics cards.
In a later post, he explained that he bought the two rigs from a guy who had used them for cryptocurrency:
The guy wanted to sell everything for 800 dollars, I offered him 500 dollars plus 50 dollars for bringing it to me. He accepted. What he told me is that crypto has been going down for months and he usually used it to pay for electricity and make a profit, but now he can barely manage. I guess he didn’t know what he had, or didn’t care, I tested each of the cards and they work [all] perfectly, I just had to clean them, they were ridiculously dusty.

But his picture and especially the explanations cause disbelief in the community.
The community believes that something isn’t right
How does the community react? In the comments under the thread, there’s a heated discussion about how real or safe this purchase really is. Because many find it absurd that someone would sell 11 RTX 3070 graphics cards for just 550 euros. Because in Germany alone, you’re already paying about 560 euros for a single card (via geizhals.de).
Many users wonder if the picture is fake and the poster just wants attention or if he simply bought stolen goods cheaply. Especially since the seller took significantly less and probably had no idea about the goods. One user commented on reddit:
He didn’t know what he [had in hardware] because he stole them from somewhere. If you offer 300 less than he asks, it means you assumed they were stolen and he just wanted quick money.
Another user mocks in his thread on reddit: “An hour ago it was still 400 dollars, now he has changed it [the price] to 550 dollars. 400 was then too little to be credible, right?”
