Every year, Electronic Arts releases the latest installment of its football simulation. Pre-orders for FIFA 23 are already live, and some lucky ones managed to buy the game for just 6 cents due to a glitch. But what does EA say about this error?
How could FIFA 23 be purchased for 6 cents? In the Indian version of the Epic Games Store, the price of the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 was set to 4.80 rupees, which is equivalent to 6 cents. Those who learned of the error and quickly pre-ordered the game were able to snag the bargain.
Of course, this information quickly spread in the community, and reddit user u/rajat20rana shared his heavily discounted purchase in the subreddit for the football simulation.
In the screenshot posted by u/rajat20rana, it is clear that the purchased version of the game is the Ultimate Edition, which costs €89.99 in Germany (via Steam). You can see the differences between the Ultimate Edition and the Standard Version of FIFA 23 here on MeinMMO.
However, those who purchased the edition at such a low price have been anxious since then about whether they would actually receive the Ultimate Edition for that price.

What does EA say about the blunder? Almost a month after FIFA was sold for 6 cents in the Indian Epic Games Store, the blunder is again a topic on reddit. The user u/indi_n0rd shared an email he received in this regard. The email features the Epic Games logo, but it is signed by “EA Sports FIFA Team”.
The content of the email states that the EA Sports FIFA Team admits that the price was their mistake. This is also the reason why the team will honor the purchases that were made.
According to this email, every player who pre-ordered FIFA 23 for 6 cents in the Epic Games Store will receive the game.
EA releases official statement: In an official statement, EA now comments on the error that allowed some lucky buyers to purchase FIFA 23 for 6 cents and thus confirms the content of the email:
A few weeks ago, we scored a pretty spectacular own goal when we accidentally offered FIFA 23 pre-orders in the EPIC Store at the wrong price. That was our mistake, and we will honor all pre-orders at that price. We wish our fans a great time with FIFA 23 and look forward to seeing them on the pitch in September!”
