With Witch Queen, Destiny 2 has brought many new Exotics into the game. Some of them are useful, while others are hardly touched at all. However, one Hunter Exotic caused crazy damage numbers thanks to a glitch, even though it was neglected by many.
Which Exotic is it? It is the Hunter Exotic helm “Decay Ranger.” Players could secure this by completing the heroic story quest of Witch Queen. However, the choice usually fell on the Renewal Grips, as Hunters can support their teammates with their grenades.
The Decay Ranger provided too few advantages, so players initially neglected it. Guardians from the community have now discovered that through a glitch, your damage could be increased significantly.
Glitch makes bosses melt – Bungie puts a stop to it
We at MeinMMO do not support such exploits and will not explain them in detail. However, since Bungie has already addressed the issue and players can no longer execute the glitch, we will show you the extent of the exploit through a video:
The glitch ensures that after canceling your super and simultaneously blocking a projectile, you retain the damage buff from “Voltaic Mirror.” Players can thus destroy bosses and other enemies in seconds with a 5-fold damage buff.
Enemies like the ogre boss from the dungeon “Suction of Greed” required several rounds in a 3-man squad. However, the YouTuber selFu destroys the ogre with all the ammunition his Gjallarhorn has to offer. Nine full shots were enough to kill him solo. Even the final boss of the dungeon stood no chance and was dead after a damage phase.
How has Bungie reacted? Bungie immediately disabled the Exotic in Destiny 2 to take a closer look at the issue. They have commented on Twitter, stating that they will examine the problem in more detail. Therefore, you can no longer execute the glitch and must defeat the bosses through honest means.
